All 104 Xbox One Backwards Compatible Games Revealed!

Here it is as promised, the full lineup of Xbox 360 games that will be playable on your Xbox One. Come November 12th you will be able to play selected Xbox 360 games on your shiny new Xbox One!

The initial list from Microsoft is comprised of a total 104 games. The majority of the games belong to Microsoft with a small portion belonging to outside publishers like EA and Ubisoft. According to Microsoft this is the initial list of supported titles, hundreds more will follow.

The List

The list is comprised of many a popular Xbox 360 game but the biggest talking point for us to come out of this announcement is the distinct lack of fan favorites, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 and Red Dead Redemption which currently top the most requested list.

In fact, there are no games at all coming from Activision or 2K – so if you were looking forward to playing Red Dead, Black Ops 2 or Modern Warfare on your Xbox One next week, think again you may be more than a little disappointed.

This is not to say that these titles will not be making the step up to current gen at all, it may just take a little more time.

“You can expect new Xbox One backward compatible games to be announced on a regular basis, starting in December,” – Microsoft

Until we hear more, I suggest you check out the games that will be available to play on you Xbox One come November 12.

This will certainly be a defining moment in Microsoft’s gaming history. The industry today is a stellar example of technology and development, showcasing the computing genius of our generation. But at the same time to move forward we must first look back . Those classic games that seem so simply now, were the founding fathers of today’s multimillion dollar hits.

It just makes sense to invite them into our homes and keep us company once again – I mean c’mon guys they’ve earnt it. Welcome home the old school. I cannot wait to load up and start playing some of my old favourites.

If you want to see exactly how backwards compatibility will work on your Xbox One, head over to our previous piece now and let Major Nelson and the always charismatic FLitz from Smosh Games run through it all.
