Yet Another Blow For Batman: Arkham Knight on PC!

With RockSteady devs still coming up short, things just keep getting worse for Batman: Arkham Knight PC edition.

Warner Bros have stated that they will officially stop giving support to PC players whose computers have multiple graphics cards – which is pretty much all of them – there is huge emphasis within the PC communities on rig customization.

There is no denying that Batman: Arkham Knight was a resounding success. The game broke so many records that even Usain Bolt would have been jealous. It wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows for RockSteady though. On the flip side of a seamless console release came the utterly shambolic PC launch. The PC version was riddled with glitches and bugs. After just a few hours on launch day the PC community was up in arms. The game simply did not work, and now it seems that Warner Bros have given up all together.

This disappointing news comes just weeks after the company relaunched the title back out on PC after previously pulling it off shelves entirely. It seems that the gains from solving these multi-GPU issues were too small compared to the implications such changes would bring to other parts of the game.

“We’ve been working with our development and graphics driver partners over the last few months to investigate utilising multi-GPU support within Batman: Arkham Knight,” Warner Bros’ representative wb.elder.pliny explained. “The result was that even the best case estimates for performance improvements turned out to be relatively small given the high risk of creating new issues for all players. As a result we’ve had to make the difficult decision to stop work on further multi-GPU support. We are disappointed that this was not practical and apologise to those who have been waiting for this feature.”

So, the update you have been waiting for – not coming. It also leads me to wonder about later games coming out of Warner Bros, will we see another patch work collaboration following a seamless console debut?

Full refunds have been offered to all those who bought the game on PC. This goes some way in mending the relationship between the PC communities and Warner Bros but significant emphasis must be made with any future title that follows Batman onto PC.

Will you be buying another PC game from Warner Bros?
